Our journey began with a repeat client, a testament to the trust and partnership we’ve established over our previous engagements. They sought our expertise to transition from their retiring software, Hyperion, to a custom OneStream solution designed for strategic portfolio planning. Their decision to partner with us once again was influenced by our flexibility, iterative approach, and open collaboration to ensure the OneStream solution was optimally aligned with their users’ needs.
The catalyst for our project was the impending retirement of the client’s existing software, Hyperion. Their former solution, while functional, had some shortcomings. It operated at such an intricate level that metadata maintenance became a cumbersome task, yielding limited value. We saw the imminent retirement of Hyperion not just as a hurdle to overcome but as a chance to improve the technical solution which required a very iterative process.
Understanding the challenges and objectives of the customer, we initiated a requirements gathering process. The goal was to clearly comprehend their existing process and envision the desired future solution. With this understanding, our dedicated team began prototyping a custom OneStream solution. We continually incorporated the customer’s valuable feedback twice a week into each iteration until a mature version was ready for a broader audience using dashboard and cube view user interfaces. The solution ended up using dynamic aggregations as well as stored consolidations to meet multiple requirements.
Despite a flexible timeline, we made it a priority to deliver before the “drop-dead” date, demonstrating our commitment to client success. As part of the process, end-user testing was carried out to ensure the new solution met the needs and expectations of its users. Once testing was complete, the solution was migrated to production. We then assisted with the necessary training for administrators and users to ensure a smooth transition from Hyperion to OneStream.
